The purpose of adopting a style guide is not to constrain creativity but to acknowledge language as a medium through which ideologies can be constructed. transitiontradition seeks to ensure that writers do not perpetuate hierarchical structures of power surrounding, for example, race, gender, illness and disability.
It remains the right of any individual to express views which challenge the values of the site but the editor will reject all submissions regardless of subject matter which contain basic errors of grammar or fact.

Article or interview submissions can be anything up to 2000 words in length.
Pieces for the text showcase should also not exceed 2000 words in length.
Reviews must be under 250 words long.

Please limit initial submissions to one piece of work per category for each issue but mention in the accompanying email if you have more work you would like to submit.

Visual Artists:
Please email work as either a *gif or *jpeg file attachment. Resolution must be set to 72dpi and images must be sized to fit comfortably on a standard sized monitor (800x600). Please send one image initially and detail the other images you would like to submit in the accompanying email. Please also include the work title or describe it as untitled.

Submission does not guarantee publication. There is no payment for publication of work but all contributors are invited to send a short biography, a photograph and/or any contact details you would like visitors to see.
