Born to Ruin

The description of Plymouth based quartet Crazy Arm as, roots-punk set up an erroneous expectation in my mind. After an interminable guitar introduction, the first track 'Asphalt' had a surprisingly harmonious sound, reminiscent of Incubus.

The second track 'Still to Keep,' name checks the usual punk suspects "I'm tired of politicians, of patriots and cops" but despite the 'rebellion by rote,' by this point I was really warming to Crazy Arm. Whatever you think of the lyrics they write a tidy chorus and have the 'working band' tightness created by an endless round of touring supporting acts such as Capdown and Propogandhi.

If only every quasi-political album was so easy to digest.
